Laura’s academic journey began at the University of Florida, where she graduated cum laude in 2003 with a major in Political Science and a minor in Latin American Studies. She was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Certified Legal Intern and gained invaluable experience through the Full Representation Family Law Clinic at the Virgil C. Hawkins Civil Clinics, where she represented clients in family law cases within the 8th Judicial Circuit.

Upon earning her Juris Doctorate in December 2007, Laura dePaz Cabrera was admitted to practice law as a member of the Florida Bar in February 2009. Her dedication to professional development led her to the Florida Bar’s Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy, where she became a Class IV fellow.

Laura’s litigation experience is substantial, and prior to founding dePaz Cabrera Immigration Law, she was a partner with George & Cabrera Immigration Attorneys providing comprehensive immigrations solutions for hundreds of Clients.
